BE A WELL MAMA WORKSHOP (IN STUDIO)

  • 8a Bartlett Street Bath, England, BA1 2QZ United Kingdom (map)

A 2hrs Self Care Workshop for Mothers using specific Nutrition, Holistic Therapies & Exercise

Why is Self-Care so important for New Mums?

Regardless of their fitness/health and their birth experience, all new mums will suffer from some form of:

-  sleep deprivation

-  weakened or wounded tissues & skin

  • stress (physiological pain, anxiety of being a new mum etc)

  • hormonal shift

And all that for a period of up to 2 years after birth and sometimes longer, depending on their lifestyle.
They receive however very little support in comparison to during pregnancy & birth, while often under huge pressure from media & society to be the perfect parent with the perfect body to match in record time!

What to expect:

Holistic therapist Lizzie Longhurst ('Top to Toe Treatments, Bath & Corsham') and Perinatal Exercise Specialist Virginie Dumas (‘Strong Mama’) have combined years of experience and expertise in their fields to offer mothers that well needed postnatal support towards achieving a greater sense of well being and confidence.
Join them for an informative and nurturing morning, exploring ways to assist mental health & heal your body using specific nutrition, key exercises & holistic therapies (massage, reflexology etc).

This workshop is delivered over 2hrs in a relaxed atmosphere and mums can choose to attend alone or with their baby. Enjoy a Well Mama breakfast smoothie and/or soothing herbal tea on arrival and walk away with the knowledge & practical tools to increase their energy, boost hormone balance and moods, release stress and tension, heal and strengthen a weakened abdominal wall and pelvic floors, not just with the right exercises but also the right diet! Mums will also take home a Well Mama oil sample and Well Mama self care booklet including some of the information shared on the day and more useful tips.

Babies are always welcome; Mums please wear comfortable clothing as there are practical elements in this workshop.

Who is it for?

  • Mums who have recently given birth as well as mums up to 24months who still don’t quite feel like ‘themselves’

  • Expectant mums who wish to plan for a self care routine ahead of baby’s arrival

What mums are saying about it:

“Not only was the well mama workshop a well needed break from the normal routine and a rare little oasis for myself in a busy week, it was welcoming, really well structured, informative and I came away calm, rested and better equipped with increased knowledge to be able to nutritionally and emotionally nurture and heal myself and benefit my family. The information book given to take away has been really helpful, particularly the recipe ideas and massage instructions. Thank you Lizzie and Virginie, you are both amazing :). ”

— Kirsty D., (35 weeks pregnant and mum to 2 1/2 year old)

“I found the workshop incredibly useful in terms of nutrition after birth and in the third trimester, supporting the knowledge I already have and adding to it, I found the information about types of essential oils incredibly useful to me as I know little in this area, the massage techniques and exercises during the workshop were also essential to me for postnatal recovery. Overall I found the workshop a well rounded experience to aid myself and other mums in healing efficiently after birth and also preparing for birth. The booklet given during the course is an excellent reminder of all the workshop content, I’d definitely recommend attending the workshop to any expecting mum.”

— Amira S.(Pregnant of 34 weeks and Postnatal with children aged 10yrs and 19months)

“Thank you Virginie and Lizzie for all the well mama advice! It’s the first time since my little girl was born than I’ve taken time to think about my own health and recovery. The simple exercises gave me something to instantly add into my daily routine and I’ve been working my way through the all the lovely recipes - pea protein shakes are my hunger lifesaver! Every new mum should have the chance to do this workshop. After all, behind every happy, healthy baby is a happy, healthy mum :)”

— Michelle H (New Mum)
