Strong Mama POSTNatal Strength & Recovery

Wednesday 1-2pm (In Person; post only)

 

A safe and essential re-introduction to strength exercise for mums who recently gave birth .This is a specialised non impact class  answering the needs of the pre/postnatal body, focussing on core connection/activation & restoration, including pelvic floor muscles as well as postural alignment, mobility/flexibility of typically tight areas and full body strengthening/ conditioning through functional movement; body weight and band/free weight resistance are used accordingly and some exercises can be done with baby. Open to Postnatal Mums from ‘4th trimester’ until 12+ months postpartum & Babies (pre or just- crawling stage in studio); Postnatal Abdominal separation will be checked on your 1st session with your consent (hands on or guided self-measurement) . Exercises will be modified according to the individual birth experience and recovery stage so this class is also suitable for mums who are suffering from specific issues including back/pelvic disfunction, pelvic floor injuries, abdominal separation, SPD etc. The class is taught as a course to ensure better results and adequate progression. Term time only. SPACES ARE LIMITED SO BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL

Baby welcome. All equipment is provided but you’re welcome to bring your own baby blanket if you prefer. (Please note that this course would move online via Zoom in the event of a lockdown, dangerous weather etc).

Strong Mama PRENatal Strength& Wellness

A specialised class to support the ever changing pregnant body throughout the trimesters including full body functional strength and specific and safe core strength, pelvic floor activation/release, postural work as well as relieving tension/aches from increasing loading and structural changes. Exercise will be suitably regressed according to pregnancy stage and the individual requirements. This class is suitable and beneficial for mums with pregnancy ailments such as pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, SPD, Diastasis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. With regular attendance, Expectant Mums can maintain strength, mobility and wellbeing from conception (with medical clearance) or 12 weeks gestation until birth, enjoying a more comfortable pregnancy, while regular exercise also benefits their unborn baby and increasing chances of a faster recovery postnatally.
