Core Strength

Monday 9.45-11am & 12.30-1pm*

 

Non-impact, mat based strength class open to all ages and level of fitness including the not-so-new mums and dads targeting the Core muscles or "Powerhouse" of the body. This class draws on variations of mat-based Pilates-style technique mixed in with  other toning & conditioning exercises, using body weight and resistance bands. Improved posture and stronger abdominals/back and a sense of general well-being are some of the benefits you can expect to gain from this class. The 30 min Express class is ideal for those looking to train on their lunch break as well as those suffering/recovering from injuries or other medical conditions. Please bring your own mat. Strong Mama Strength & Recovery

*Wednesday 1-2pm (Yoga Bodhi studio)

 

A safe re-introduction to exercise for mums who recently gave birth. This is a specialised non impact class  answering the needs of the postnatal body, focussing on abdominals re-sculpting and pelvic floor recovery as well postural re-alignment and body toning. Open to Mums and Babies from 6 weeks after birth until 12 months (Pre walkers). Abdominal separation will be tested on your 1st session. Exercises will be modified according to the individual postnatal stage and strength level. This class is taught in a *6 weeks course format to ensure a safe and effective re-introduction & progression to exercise.

*Cost: £ 60.00; (Drop in space allowing: £11.00)

Location: Yoga Bodhi studio, 8 Bartlett street, Bath BA1 2QZ. (Please note that the studio is up two flights of stairs so baby carriers are preferable, otherwise help will be given for buggies). All equipment & Baby blankets provided. Register for booking info.

A more challenging class open to all including not-so-new Mums & Dads, looking to strengthen their deep abdominals and back muscles for an improved posture and a lean physique as well as gaining better performance in other sports & activities. A non-impact class using both body weight and some resistance equipment to improve stability and strength. General to intermediate Level.

Strong Mama In The Park

Friday 10.30-11.30 (Lev 1 & 2)

 

A faster pace, specialised outdoor Bootcamp-style workout for Mums where babies & Toddlers are welcome, incorporating cardiovascular drills and compound strength/power exercises in order to improve cardiovascular fitness, full body strength and maximize energy expenditure/fat loss, without compromising the safety and needs of the postnatal body. This bootcamp combines 2 levels of intensity taught simultaneously: "NoMoreBump-Camp"-Level 1 is for Mums 6-23 weeks postpartum or any mums who requires an impact free workout (e.g.: Pelvic floors or back injuries); "Tough Mama"-Level 2 for Mums 6 months+ pp & Not-so-new Mums too, when the body is ready for re-introduction of impact. Please bring a mat (Eg: yoga mat) and/or blanket and some water. You may want to bring an extra floor mat or blanket for your little ones. Buggies are welcome but not compulsory. 

Cost: £48.00* for 6 weeks or £10.00 drop in; drop-in only available for those who have previously attended a Strong Mama Course in studio or park or at the teacher's discretion (*Course is £44.00 for mums who attend any other Strong Mama Courses); £85.00 for 10 classes Pass (to be used within 12 weeks);Please register for more details & info on booking.

Strong Mama Pre/ Postnatal S&R 

Monday 11.15am-12.15pm

 

Specialised exercise suitable for expectant and new mums (Baby aged 0-6 months) using minimal equipment, targeting body alignment, posture, pelvic stability and abdominal strength/reconstruction through specific core exercises, mobility & stretches. This class may also suit mums with older babies (over 6 months) who are suffering from specific issues including back/pelvic disfunction, pelvic floor injuries, abdominal separation, SPD etc. Focus is on Mama but Babas are welcome. Places are limited so please register to book a space early and avoid disappointment. Please bring your own mat and baby blanket. There is a lift so easy access for buggies.
